Jiaqi Hu (Hu Jiaqi, Famous Anthropologist): Science and Technology and the Future of Mankind

Will technological advancement always benefit humanity? Tingyang Zhao, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, expressed doubts about this. In his view, the reason why technological developments of modern times are successful is because it has not touched the ontological boundary of technology, and the current technological development is creating a future beyond human control, and the future becomes an absolute unfamiliar state, including changes that are completely unmeasurable and uncontrollable, we enter the future is equivalent to entering the gambling mode.

Zhouxing Sun, a professor of philosophy at the School of Humanities at Tongji University, combined his thoughts on ancient and modern technology, as well as the concept of Nietzsche's superman and last man, to explore the possibilities of future people. It is also suggested that although the dominance of technology is established, we cannot advocate technological determinism and we should learn from Heidegger's ability to “say no”.
